Well I found a few tricks because as a young person in the 21st century I've been innundated with technology since a babe at the breast and unfortunately it's only getting worse but the plus side to things being horrible is that now there is this movement of DISCONNECTING. Well if you're on neocities you probably don't need anyone telling you that phone is satan.

The most first thing to do to get the HELL off that thing is to HATE IT. If you possess a phone you have to understand that its prescence is sucking your soul out of your eyeballs and heart. If you harbor any love towards it, DECONSTRUCT why. My "Phone", or what's left of it, has a black background with white text, which is unintuitive, and is set to grayscale to make it so boring and neutral that there is no point of looking at it, it makes me feel as stupid as I look.

That is the whizz-bang but really in order to "tune out" you have to DELETE EVERYTHING. Be relentless. I even deleted the "app store", whoever he was. The function should be limited to "calling people" and "texting people", like the olden days. Once you get into this territory of total liberation it is tempting to try to replace each individual function of the phone with an analog equivalent And then take a voyeuristic photo of all your new toys and post it to social media

Believing in it:

all the toys, the cd player and the camera and the watch and the flashlight and the calculator, are a different fleet of luxury goods and while they are nice, and I Like Them, what I would personally suggest before anything else is WRITING THINGS WITH YOUR HANDS. This, more than anything else, are an appropriate replacement. 3 of my everyday journals (2025-2026), plus my notebook (open) / Grandpa Granola suggests this: writing down every thought is what you are conditioned to do, and to do so for applause from an audience. Do Away With This Audience and create something pure and true. If you are already isolated and lonely, why not find yourself in private. And leave a paper trail, just in case.
this is my 2 cents on the matter. and maybe being terminally offline is actually not the way to go, that it is wrong somehow. Well I am a great deal more Content to miss out on the content.
